Following Fingerprints – #16

This film work follows the ‘Acoustic Fingerprints’ project around chapels in the Teifi valley. A series of 17 Triptychs they, record and condense the activities undertaken during the visits, as well as the journeys made to the various chapels. The main camera examines the spaces using formal filming techniques, slow zooms and pans, looking at how light enters, reflects and highlights the details, providing a snapshot of these buildings in their current state. This central panel of the triptych shows edits created immediately after each visit, its duration dictating that of the other two panels.

The soundtrack to this edit is a recording of a short silence held during the project launch in Capel Bethania.
