Brought along the D90 for some night time shooting. Didn't have time to really set the camera or do much thinking as a three year old on sugar is a wild beast to tame. Only had the 2.8 lens, which made shooting in complete darkness pretty difficult. NO color correction, went with that came right out of the camera since I loved the blues and pinks.

    Takes me back to when my kids were that age.

    Did you plan for the out-of-focus interludes, or was that the camera trying to focus in the dark light? Either way it was good. The music was erie and fit in well.

    everything was shot with manual focus (the only way to really use the D90 is with an manual lens) so sorta planned/running trying to focus.

    I was using the D90 with a f/1.4 lens so I was able to shoot in pretty dim light.

    Thosoe Green dots that showed up on your vid around 1:05 showed up on my video footage sometimes too.
    I think its flare, but aybe not, I have a Nikkor Glass filter on my f/1.4 so that may have been the cause but the dots looked just like yours.....

    man, seeing your footage, i'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. did you just let it auto expose? play around with the +/- button any?

    hey Rich - I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I love your Night footage video. Excellent stuff. I use the manual lens and do the trick to autolock the exposure. I have never used the +/- buttons is it useful? The manual lens makes all the difference since you can set the exposure and open up if needed or close down.
