I tag everything I shoot in HD with "HD" and everything I shoot with my HV20 with "Canon HV-20." Feel free to use any of those clips for your pitch.

I just wanted to say that this is a really good example of what is so great about Vimeo. You guys are very passionate about what you do. It's really inspiring.

yeah! I love my new HV-20. I get video geeks coming up to me all the time: "what is that?" I get that little twinkle in my eye and reply, "this, my friend, is a revolution in a very very small package" heheh... good luck with the Canon pitch! I am overjoyed to have discovered Vimeo. Think you have a good point of making people happy when they can share video's via Vimeo, got a friend who learned vimeo about 3 weeks ago and she's quite happy that she can share movies with her parents now who live about 800KM distance from her.

I've been taking videos with my Mac (ha ha) and was just about to buy a camcorder and you've just influenced me to buy a HD one.

I love you, btw. (Not in like a psycho way or anything.)

AVCHD needs some reliable real-time editing codecs before any small HD camcorder is going to be any different from the olden days of "footage locked away in a closet". It's a major pain to convert these little 300 meg mts files into a more friendly format, and see them launch up to 3,000 megs.

Many of Sony and Panasonic's camcorders use that format and its incredibly annoying to work with. The footage looks great and all, but its like you have to wrestle with yourself to force yourself into working with the footage... when normally you'd jump at the opportunity to edit the footage you shot.

I work primarily in Final Cut Pro, but because of the storage space difference, I've recently been forced to use and learn Sony Vegas just for the real time AVCHD edits.

I've sworn by Canon for most of what I've done in my career, at work we use a couple XL2s for filming events for example, most of my college projects were done on an XL1. I have some friends that used the GL2s and their footage is great as well. If canon comes out with something as small as my panasonic that shoots and edits as well as I'd like, I'll be selling off my panasonic in a heartbeat.

That being said, when I do get around to editing my footage, I'll be uploading some great footage from the trip to Arizona my girlfriend and I took!
