The content behind this video happened quite by accident. Last year, during the spring semester of my junior year at Philadelphia University, I was preparing for a film project. I was working on this poetry piece and I decided that I was going to film some fish in vases under a black light. Now, I should state that I did not own fish at the time, so I had no knowledge of how to properly care for the fish. After I picked up these 25 cent fish and one betta at the local PetsMart, I brought them home and proceeded to put them in the vases. But, what I did not realize was that it is never a good idea to put fish directly into untreated Philly tap water. Yeah, that's what I did. In hindsight, I realize this was a stupid idea because within an hour or two of bringing them home all of the fish slowly died, all except for the betta. He miraculously survived. (In fact, he is still living. His name is DiNozzo and he lives in a nice little tank in my bathroom). But, since I had begun to film the fish as soon as I put them in vases, I was able to capture their sad short life. Oh little fish, please forgive me for killing you.
