Everything was set for our fledgling session in our bunker in the neighbourhood of Sants: cameras and lights were in place, sound checked, mics ready and the preamps warmed. The only thing missing was them.

And finally there they were, brandishing instruments that, thanks to the cordiality of low-cost airlines, they had to borrow from local friends. We soon found out their tardiness was courteous of one of those typical Barcelona taxi drivers, who couldn’t even find their own front door without GPS.

However, there are times where slight mishaps are merely a prelude to grandeur, and this was one of those times. From the very moment Mäbu (www.myspace.com/mabumusica) breached the threshold of the Sol de Sants studios (www.soldesants.com), we knew something good was poised to happen. Because, besides borrowed instruments, María Blanco, Txarli Solano and Daniel Arias brought in positive vibes and heaps of talent.

Under the guidance of Warner (www.warnermusic.es), Mäbu came to Barcelona to present their first album, Buenos Días, an affectionate good morning, according to María. Here we have them performing the single Hallo!. So we invite you to open your eyes and ears and enjoy a hearty helping of pop in Spanish.
