Nao poderia ser outro motivo .

Cheers,
Denver Riddle
I politely and respectfully voiced that I don't understand the motives of the characters and was hoping someone involved in the production of the film could clarify this for me.
How am I a douche bag?
On a separate not, great little short. Really enjoyed that.
The short film is tongue-in-cheek.
It's song reference is originally from a little known Mondo film from Sweden: Heaven and Hell, but popularized from a muppet sketch shown here:
youtube.com/watch?v=NA90IlymdZ4
I could digress on how the entire film's purpose is to create a familiar tension between executioner and victim and then relieve said tension by means of a bonding of two juxtaposed characters through a popularized tune, allowing the audience to partake in the punch-line before finishing the victim off in traditional form, but that's probably too wordy.
Instead I'll say:
It's good. It's funny. It works.
Cheers.
I feel I'm missing the punchline still but maybe it just doesn't speak to me.
Either way, thanks for the explanation :).
People have jobs. Some shoot others, others are shot, and it's not easy being on either end of the gun. The job will get done either way, but heh, might as well sing a tune in the meantime - we're still human, even if we act like animals.
I don't think it's funny. I think it's observant.
I totally can relate to characters.
I have a friend who tends to sing ridiculous melodies when he is nervous too. especially to the deadlines .
I actually think it is very common among most people.
the killer's slight hesitation and playing along just to see where this will go, it can happen. they have a thing in common. they both know that ridiculous song. he even enjoys it for a second.
the victim holds on to that moment desperately, keeps singing with hope, trying to extend his lifetime.
then the killer realizes although it was fun, it is pointless, he has to kill him. the moment is gone, magic fades. and just shoots the guy.
that s what I get from this piece.
which makes this piece, superb.
a rare occasion that is funny and sad at the same time. although this situation is unlikely to happen, the suspension of disbelief is very well balanced.
it is very hard to catch unique emotions like this in film i think. and it is very brief.
In my opinion, the hitman never has any hesitation about following through, he was just indulging a dead man in his last "request." Added a nice humanity to the guy instead of just being a cold killer.
To each their own, eh?
do you call every person who asks a polite question a retard? (it seems that this question alone makes me one by your standards) If so, I advise you not to venture on Vimeo any further, as a lot of people here are having constructive critisism through polite conversations and helpful posts -you should try Youtube, where everyone knows everything.
As for the short, I really liked the cinematography and the acting -which was spot on, even though I missed the meaning. Now that it was clearly explained to me (the popularity of the tune, the Swedish context, etc.) I can appreciate it even more. Though I felt an Aki Kaurismäki vibe along with the Kitano one.
Keep Vimeo free from trolls please...
Signed: one of (the many!) retards you'll come accross here.
I've been trying to find the same version of the song, as you used for the ending, but none of them sound as clean as yours! Care to share where you found it? :)
my
god
i lol'd so hard <3
Hats off though. A laugh bursted through the office.
Very nice.
Rock On
WIN!!
other than that, it's a very interesting little short, I liked it. The executioner is very rugged with his "manamana", and through these are the only words he speaks in the film, his character is delivered quite well.
great job!
Looks and sounds gorgeous, crosses language barriers --- well done :)
Jag slängde upp den på (good) shiiit.com , enjoy :>
Your film was on Dutch television yesterday evening! How about that!
Funny and tragic xD
