Every part of the human body is associated with functional as well as emotional qualities or purposes. Limbs equal mobility, brain equals spirit, heart equals emotion and so on.
This seemingly cliché linkage promotes the importance of some vital parts of the human body towards others that support secondary functions. No matter how this hierarchy is built, it is nevertheless based on a conceptual basis of functionality, which inevitably sections and fragments the idea of the body.
My intention in this piece is to depict the body based on a different system of evaluation and interpretation. That is by measuring the volume of emotional, sensual or visual energy, its density and magnitude. In that sense the body is seen as of high-energy or of low-energy concentration areas. The aim is to create a spectrum that describes this range of qualities and the way they are distributed in space.
