This paint animation is the third in a series of 3 related examples associated with the old Process Movie Tutorials.
Instead of erasing each frame to white before painting it in, we overdraw on top of a modified previous output frame. The modification to the previous frame is based on a paint synthesizer preset that spreads out the existing canvas based on the source frame orientation. This leads to reduced visual flicker and a more aesthetically interesting visual appearance of spreading wet paint in the first animation example.
