CREATIVE APPLICATIONS OF CONCATENATIVE SOUND SYNTHESIS
Ben Hackbarth (PhD candidate UCSD Music) presents an overview of the aesthetic ideas behind AudioGuide, a software for concatenative sound synthesis written in Python and realized in collaboration with Norbert Schnell and Diemo Schwartz at l'Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM). Ben discusses several technical aspects of the concatenative algorithm as well as the manner in which he is currently integrating the program into his artistic practice.
