Today (actually late yesterday afternoon) I picked up my new camera from Pro Video and Tape in Tigard, Oregon.

Because it was a little late in the day all I got were these night images but at least you'll be able to see how it holds up in low-light.

It is sunny right now so I'm off to shoot a little bit.

Beautiful Images. What do you think of the camera? I have been looking into getting something new and this is one that I really liked.

It has been raining here too much, it is too dark when I finally have time to play so I can't really say or give it a full review yet. I've always liked my DVX100a and really liked the image quality of the HVX200 have use both many times for work so I can only imagine the HPX170 being really great. Hopefully in the next week I'll have more time with the camera.

I'll update my 170 blog and the 170 group soon with my impressions of the camera.

yeah i'm concerned about it being clean as I shoot a lot of indoor theater lighting type of pieces. The hvx was alright but still noticeably noisy. The 170 brings it closer to the clean images of the HPX500.

I really can't wait to put this camera to work.

I understand what you mean, the txt on that paint pot was so sharp it almost looked like it had been photoshopped on.
