The first tryout of the avoid the void game we're developing together with Anett Kulcar (Dansor) of the Comport records label.
Player's target is to avoid the blocks coming towards the player by moving and jumping. Minimal gameplay, highly addictive and a good workout!
While playing we record the player's actions and later use that material to compose a live generated videoclip. More of that in a later stage.
The game/installation is available for festivals and parties.
We used the following techniques:
Quartz Composer for the game, logic and level builder
Tryplex Toolkit, a collection of QC patches we made for the Hyperwerk institute in Switzerland to make it easier to work with the kinect/ Sensebloom's OSCeleton in Quartz Composer (code.google.com/p/tryplex/)
