After watching Jesus raise Lazarus from the dead, the crowd following him grew large and continued to increase as the word spread of this miracle. In the midst of this excitement and momentum, Jesus speaks to the people in a parable about what is to come, "the death of a kernel of wheat" resulting in "a plentiful harvest of new lives." It was the beginning of the end of Jesus' ministry on the earth, and with it a challenge given to anyone considering to following Him. This Sunday we will freshly examine Jesus' call to discipleship and how it translates today in 2011.
