I do a lot of work in print design & I find it fascinating. I once emailed a similar video to my printers, who’ve been in the business for a long time. One of the things they mentioned was the quality and skill involved, & how its dying out. I’ve spoken to colleagues a lot older than me, recollecting on the good old days & how they would type set using film.

Today we press control P and its there, like freeze dried coffee, but digital printing is no substitute to litho printing, or letterpress for this matter. You can argue that letter press print can be replicated on computer but it is not the same. You can have a really good print design on screen, but remember its all in the finish.

Getting to use our old letterpress at school was a treat. It's sad that a lot of universities are getting rid of this stuff; one of our professors was only able to save one press and few shelves of type from the auction block. :/

Probably... but it's the only one I had. That's the way it goes working with woodtype.
