After police made everyone clear First Ave. (vimeo.com/2170449), the party migrated down St. Marks toward Ave. A. About 100 feet from A, a second-floor apartment was playing top-volume dance music through speakers on their fire escape. OH, SAY, 150 people had gathered when the police tried to disperse them; however, before long the cops gave up, blocked off the street and stood to the side to make sure the block party they were resigned to permit didn't get too bananas.
