This is a project I've wanted to work on for some time and got the opportunity to try it out recently. I'd like to thank the OHL and Mississauga St. Michael's Majors for their willingness to allow me to shoot this.

So what is it? It's a timelapse of two periods of a hockey game. Still working on the third period.

This was an experiement. I wanted to see how it would turn out.

Shot at 1 frame/sec, ISO 1600, 1/250 @ f4 & 17mm focal length on a D700. Another time I'd slow the shutter speed down a bit. Shot in medium/fine JPEG tethered to a laptop using LR3 to capture and a Phottix Nikos release as the intervalometer. Colour corrections in Lightroom, assembled in Sony Vegas, deflicker filter applied in Virtualdub then back to Vegas for output as an mp4. All intermediate files were saved using the Lagarith Lossless Codec. Music is a midi rocked up version of 'Flight of the Bumble Bee' that I played around with.

The lighting caused some problems with flicker and colour shifts.
