The Jimmy Rig Slip Jig is a musical construction to be performed by 6 song machinists using harmonic materials and voices. Composed and engineered by George Higgs, its development and workshopping were funded by The Arts Council of Ireland and Dublin City Council.
The video is a workshop performance of an excerpt called Tin Can Undrum which took place on March 8, 2011 as part of the Sensorium Festival in The Project Arts Centre in Dublin.
The skilled work-crew consists of:
Sean Carpio: battery, lip buzzing and baritone vocal machinist
Sophie Coyle: friction, battery and soprano vocal machinist
Sharon Phelan: battery, abrasion and alto vocal machinist
George Higgs: battery, lip buzzing and pluck machinist
