A title sequence I directed for the pilote of an unproduced TV series created by Pete Candeland and writer Stu Connolly for Cartoon Network.
I worked with Kevin Dart who designed the creatures and some backgrounds. Lionel Marchand animated the characters and Ben Locket composed the music.
It's all made with Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
As you can see, it's a tribute to all the Sci Fi/Horror movies from the 50's.
It was so exciting working with such talented people and being so free and trusted!
A great memory!

Hey, I was wondering how you did the dust/smoke? If everything else is traditionally made, the dust or smoke in the scenes are particle effects or something, right?

Thanks and once again, awesome job.
  • Stephane coedel plus 10 months ago
all the dust and smoke effects are real footages. I didn't use any particle effects for this job.

    Thanks a lot :)
  • Mark Koenov 10 months ago
Really? Are they chroma keyed footage's? If you don't mind, can you please tell me where you got those dirt footage? I have been looking for something exactly like yours. Is is stock footage? website, link, anything?
    Thank you very very much.
  • Stephane coedel plus 10 months ago
the footages are from the companie itself, they shot the elements in front of black background, so it's not something you can buy.

It's hard to believe that they would refuse to commit to something of this calibre, too good maybe, it raises the bar too high.
Keep up the excellent work, I know that soon something will click and it will be a world-wide hit!
