60. More Music @ the Moore 2007 Short Documentary

This project is called More Music @ the Moore 2007.

What is the Moore? Built in 1907, the Moore is Seattle's oldest performing arts theatre. Remember that Pearl Jam video (Even Flow I think) where Eddie Vedder climbs up on the lighting rig and jumps into the crowd? That's the Moore Theatre.

Anyway - the organization that currently runs both the Moore and Paramount theatres, Seattle Theatre Group, puts together annual mentorship programs for young aspiring musicians and dancers. This documentary is about that experience.

Came out really great. They got a whole production company's worth of work from one dude. You should definitely be proud of this.

Wow man, great job. Are you the sole cameraman/editor?
  • Ian Lucero 1 year ago
The only part that isn't me are the 60i clips in B&W near the beginning or where ever it looks like the musicians are in a band room. Those shots were over at Seattle Pacific U. taken by a fella I hired named Gordon Modin. I couldn't make it for that day so I had to get someone else to do it. He also did the establishing shots or wide shots for the actual performance of the final show. Other than that all close-ups, on stage, side shots, panning, interview, audio, and yes, all the editing - decided by me.

Oh man, this is PURE QUALITY! I'm so impressed. I've thought about doing something like this with the local volkswagen club. Seeing yours makes me scared to try because it wouldn't be nearly as well done. Maybe I'll give it a shot anyway. Great job!!

I think a lot of it has to do with the lighting and/or lack of, to be honest - that is something I was lucky to be able to have fun with.

Get good microphones. Always 2nd to the image for me. Editing is made easier with good sound, in my opinion.

Very nice execution! I am not artsy musical type and you made the whole mash up thing interesting to me.

I would like to see a big game hunting /culinary school mash up where professional chefs hunt with kitchen utensils and game hunters use the catch to prepare gourmet meals, over propane burners, while perched in tree stands.
  • Ian Lucero 1 year ago
hahah! yeah that would be pretty funny. You should set that up and shoot it.
