"Across the Creek" is a documentary film serving to reclaim Sioux Stories, Values and Visions for future generations. Shot on the Rosebud and Pine Ridge Reservations, the film blends elder tribal members' stories of youth in the early part of the twentieth century with their contemporary experience and struggles faced today. The legacy of colonialism left broken an entire way of thinking and way of living that tribal communities are now trying to restore. With focuses on family structure, tribal youth, traditional spirituality and native language, "Across the Creek" aims to help support the restoration, healing and nation rebuilding of the Lakota people.
