This clip is a sneak peek into a project that is underway based around four photographers and their passion for photography and the enviroment in which they work.

It was shot at the Stirling Ranges, four hours from Perth, Western Australia. The footage was taken on my Canon XHA1 and Letus extreme. Some still images from that trip have been included in this presentation.

The music is by Nine Inch Nails.

Wow, that was entertaining and inspiring. Some really "strong" imagery. Also, liked your choice of music. I would of never of thought 9"nails would of been a good choice but it complimented the photographers creative drive.

The Niners have put down some killer stuff over the years. I'm only starting to appreciate it now. Glad you enjoyed the preview of something bigger to come. I've gotta pull my finger out.

    Wow. Gorgeous shots!

Loved the slow transitions in which the stills desaturated.

Absolutely amazing! I echo Jon's comment about the desaturation on the stills. Awesome!

Those shots are before and after photoshop stills taken by my Bro Christian. To get a smooth transition I used a cross dissolve transition in FCP. Thanks for watching. Stay tuned for more awesomeness HaHa!!!

Michael, i've just got hip to your work today, and i must say that your vision is truly inspiring i'm also surprised with the look that your getting out of the canon xha1, i expect that out of the hpx170, and the ex1, but i never knew that the xha1 could produce such beautiful footage. i have a couple of questions. one, how long have you've been shooting, and have you ever gone to film school of any sort? reason being is because, you do certain things to well, your compositions are always breath taking, and your camera movement and placement is impeccable. i think your a remarkable talent with a hell of an eye. dwight!

Gee thanks Dwight. That is probably the best compliment I have had since I started posting to Vimeo. The XHA1 is capable of shooting great footage. You just have to set it up correctly and shoot at the correct times of the day.

I have never done any formal training and have only been shooting video since October 2007. I guess I have an advantage of being involved in a photographic business with my brother who is a great photographer and have picked many skills and an eye from him. Hell we are twins after-all so I guess its genetic. You can check us out at christianfletcher.com.au

I know what pleases my eye so I aim to capture that with my composition and transitions. I'm still learning and have just discovered a great preset for the XHA1 from John Hope on Vimeo. It's got me really excited and I recon I can push even better stuff with it.

I get inspired all the time from Vimeo contributors. I always say to myself wow that was done really well now I'm going to try to do it better. You have to keep pushing yourself and keep looking for better ways to do things.

Thanks for watching Dwight and taking the time to write such kind words. Mike

Michael your brothers photos are magnificent, now I see where you get the beautiful imagery from. You guys are extremely talented. I am over helmed at Chistian's website. I aspire to develop the eye that you guys posses. take care!

Thanks again Dwight. We just got hold of the new Canon 5D which shoots true HD 1080P and will post some stuff from that soon. Early testing shows awesome results but we have found that once you start shooting video the aperture sets automatically to the surrounding light hence in bright light you loose all your depth of field. We are going to trick it using a neutral density filter. The downside is it will add some noise. Bugger!!!!! Low light capabilities are insane.

Expect some cool stuff to come.

    Cheers Mate.
