    Hi Blake, Thanks for the comment!
    The smooth panning was due to a heavy 30 year old fluid head made by an Aussie company called Universal. You can pick them up cheap on ebay now and again for cheap.
    This one was made for 16mm cams. I have another for 8mm cams and its almost as good.
