Laila El Jarad (www.caminada.de) shows an outstanding & wonderful "Oriental" belly dance at "Tanz der Kulturen" in Berlin. Enjoy my 1st HD-Clip of this upcomig HD-Video serie. Video was taken with Canon HV30 and Manfrotto Monopod in "Kino Mode", "Kunstlicht" and "IAF" works great! Just a little bit color grading in MB looks ;-)

Great quality dance and camera, love belly dancers, last week tried some german belly dancers in Turkey in slomo with Xacti 300fs/scnd but quality was drastic low. I'll show some later.

Thanks Serge - monopod is very useful. There was not much space for a tripod... HV30 LCD seems to show more than on tape recorded. I miss the feet of the dancer in some scenes...

There should be adjustable screen-guides in HV settings that helps keeping safety area.
Overall look is very good for your conditions yet more polished with stylish graphics on begin/end

Hi Guillermo, check out the spotlight mode with IAF (auto instant focus)! for white balancing i took "Kunstlicht" - dont know the right word now... ;-) Hope this will help you a little bit!
  •
  • Well, spotlight just locks the gain to 0, its the same than using the cellphone hack. Thanks, you footage shows of what is the HV20 capable of. I will upload my footage tomorrow if you want to check it out.

By the way, what frame rate did you use?
  • Nowawes plus 1 year ago
    25fps / progressiv - european standard... ;-)
  •
  • I ended shooting the first half at 15fps and the second half, wich had more light, at 30fps. I will upload a clip of the results. Thanks for you help Nowawes, I appreciate it.
