April 4, 2011 William Kent as pilot, Ken Stockdale in the right seat, and Ken's brother, Jim Stockdale flew from St. Augustine, Florida to Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport to drop Jim off there.
It was a beautiful but windy day in Ft. Lauderdale, with winds gusting 22-25. We arrived about 6 p.m.
We had filed an IFR flight plan. The approach and landing was to Runway 13.
After landing we taxied to Banyan FBO, a beautifu facility, and parked there, were topped off with fuel, and allowed to use their crew car. Jim was picked up but Ken and I went to Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner, then back to the airport and flew back to St. Augustine that night.
On the flight back we were concerned about some weather appearing around St. Augustine, but it dissipated before we got there. The landing at St. Augustine is in another video here on Vimeo. We used the autopilot to land in St. Augustine. Check it out.
