Client: Cooper University Hospital, Camden, NJ
Background: This was a great shoot not only because we had the chance to interview a former NCAA basketball star but also because we got to try a few new things.
First, the client let us film in one of their larger operating rooms which allowed us to set up a few different lighting setups. I was pretty happy with how Dr. Lombardi came out. For me personally lighting is one of those things that I'm constantly trying to improve and I think we took some good steps with this shoot.
Secondly, even though the shoot was in November we were lucky enough to catch a warm day and shoot in one of the parks near the hospital. It was a windy day and we couldn't use body mics - they were picking up too much ambient noise. Fortunately, we had recently purchased a Rycote Softie cover for our shotgun mic and using that with the boom pole solved virtually all of our environmental noise issues.
Shooting outside was a nice change of pace for us. We've done quite a few projects with this client and making the environments look new for each video can sometimes be a challenge.
Shot with a Panasonic HVX-200A; with secondary camera shots from a Canon T2i
