In August 2005, we announced the discovery of a second moon around 87 Sylvia, making this asteroid the first known triple asteroid system. We named these moons Romulus and Remus, since N. R. Pogson, the astronomer who discovered 87 Sylvia in 1866, named this asteroid Sylvia in reference to the Rhea Sylvia, the mother of the founders of Rome.
Andrzej Karon made this video shortly after the announcement to help to visualize the system and to provide its background history.
I added a background music (Buddha Bar X, Maja - Cantoma) and posted this video here since his website is not more available.
