*NOTE: the computer froze 4 minutes into Monty's presentation. He adlibbed the rest of the talk wonderfully without the assistance of slides or notes and ended bang on time. Brilliant.*
Monty Halls is a writer, explorer and television presenter. A former Royal Marines officer who worked for Nelson Mandela on the peace process in South Africa, he left the services in 1996 to pursue a career in leading expeditions. He has since been involved in an envy-inducing array of expeditions around the world and made some excellent TV series for the BBC.
To raise funds and awareness for Hope and Homes for Children (hopeandhomes.org) an eclectic group of adventurous souls came together to give an evening of short talks.
Each talk consists of 20 slides which scroll automatically after just 20 seconds.
It is an unusual, challenging presentation format and all the speakers rose to the challenge superbly.
