The Nikon Coolpix P6000 has a neat "interval shooting" feature: every 30 seconds to 60 minutes, it'll take another full-resolution photo or add another frame to a time-lapse photo.
I tried it out during a trip to NYC for a business meeting. Behold, my 4 hour commute, by rail and on foot, in 30-second intervals.
