What you are about to watch can best be described as a "Musical Documentary". Sequence: A Musical Journey Through Space provides a brief overview of various aspects of space flight set against classical music. While it is not a true documentary in itself, the film does provide a brief synopsis about the development of manned space flight. At the same time it also gives the viewer an opportunity to experience the grandeur of space from a musical prospective.
The various classical pieces in the film are actually live concert recordings of the Burbank Chorale of Burbank, California. (burbankchorale.org). The majority of the photos and film/audio clips are courtesy of NASA, Roscosmos, and various other government and private institutions. Where ever possible visual materials are presented in high resolution format.
Though the film is best viewed while using a wide-screen digital TV with stereo sound speakers, you will certainly enjoy the show on a standard TV or on your computer.
During the narrated sections of this film the music is played very quietly. When there is no narration the music is very prominent. Another feature of this film is that the sounds of a Saturn 5 rocket engine and that of a helicopter's rotor blades are blended into the musical sound track.
With all of that said, get ready to enjoy Sequence: A Musical Journey Through Space.
Sincerely,
Michael O’Donoghue, Burbank Chorale
