When Kay said she had seen a large slug-like creature on the road verge I didn't know what to expect, and I have to admit a mole didn't occur to me, although I can see what she meant. Only the second time I've seen one above ground. It didn't stop moving, so video seemed the best way to catch it. I read once that the classic view of a mole's head popping out of a molehill usually involved snapping a dead mole placed there. The eyes are so tiny they just don't look dead.
