Taken in the central highlands of Spain, the autonomous regions Castilla-La-Mancha and Castilla-y-Léon. A region full of history and culture: The Goths, Romans and Moors have left their marks here. Don Quijote has fighted against the windmills here. This was the place of residence of El Greco, Diego de Velazquez and Francisco de Goya.

The first time I've taken my dolly with traveling. It did a really good job. But see for yourself.

The landscape there is really very special. It is an incredibly vast country. One can not capture it with the camera...

    Muito bom Ben!

    Com que equipamento trabalhaste?
Os filtros são da video camara ou de pós-produção?

    Gosto mesmo muito!

    Obrigado Davide!

    Trabalhei com meu dolly:vimeo.com/16533808, minha Nikon D90 e Sigma10 -20 .

    Não usei filtro, tudo photoshop.

  • fantastic color and movement. which Sigma 10-20? ...the constant f/3.5 or the f/4-5.6? I love the f/4-5.6 but haven't shot video with it, looks like the light was such it wouldn't matter here but am curious anyway. I have yet to shoot with the f/3.5
  • Ben plus 10 months ago
It is the f/4-5,6. A great lens, I like it very much

Amazing and powerful video, thanks Ben. How did you get this fine quality with the D90?
  • Ben plus 10 months ago
The video consists entirely of photos. The D90 is a bad video camera but it makes good photos...

  • Ben! This is outstanding! Loved the textures, the colors, the composition and framing! Such a nice impressive work. What dolly are you using? I've been thinking of getting one, but I don't know what's the best option... And judging from this video, you do know. Impressive work!

Hey, great job, you were pretty lucky with the clouds, this area is always too clear.

I´m from Toledo and I have to agree with you that it´s an amazing place to shoot. I have to do it one day... hehe.

One question about the dolly, what´s the slowest speed you can get? are you using a 1rpm motor?
And last, how do you shoot HDR? does your controller have shoot move shoot?

    Best.
  • Ben plus 10 months ago
Toledo is really a great city but It is not advisable to park wrong with the car there. It cost me € 60 :-(

The slowest speed is about 28 min/m. The motor has 10 rpm. The speed can be adjusted from 10 to 1 rpm. No shoot move shoot.

I always shoot in raw format. There are not "real" but pseudo hdr's.
  • Enrique Pacheco plus 10 months ago
Yep, gotta be careful with the parking in Spain.

I guess you can´t get a really slow move cause the motor goes straight to the gear rack. I use a 1rpm motor with a servocity gear box and can get speeds of 3h. Very useful at night.

Very clean and nice dolly anyway.

Great photography, I'm not a fan of the frenetic music.Something a bit more Baroque with synthesisers would work better, and transfer the medieval scenery much better.
  •
  • BrownPolar 10 months ago
You are a truly gifted filmmaker Ben. I have just seen all your videos, each a couple of times at least. Technical excellence apart, it is your eye for raw beauty of nature, particularly for rusticated objects, insects and plants, that I find most inspiring.

Not enough has been said in comments about the background music selection though. The music you have chosen for each video is absolutely perfect. I can't help but envy you for the collection of tunes that you must be having!

Would you be so kind to let us know the artist and title of the music on this video please?
