After a spirited day at Parrot Head Festival at Sunday River in nearby Newry, Maine, we opted for a self-powered tour of the mountain i grew up skiing on in my hometown of Bridgton, Maine. Fantastic day - bluebird - incredible views of Washington - couldn't ask for more. The snow was a bit crusty at the outset (we received about 10 inches the day before) but like any good spring day it's all about the timing. We hit the frontside for a few laps at first and that clearly had not warmed up enough. We trekked over to upper appalachain (which always sees the sun & low winds) on the eastside and had a great run down to the bottom. Headed up East Trail for one last run and then we called it a day. A Great day.
