Tony Turpinson is the most insecure man on television. A weatherman 'past his use-by', he is desperately trying to find relevance in an increasingly hostile TV world. His rival, Brian Kirk, is funnier, younger and trendier and Tony may soon be out of a job.
His wife has left him, his son ignores him, the networks are losing interest. The only one supporting him is his long-suffering assistant Tim, and even his patience is being stretched by Tony's neurotic fixation with minutia and uncanny capacity for faux pas.
In a last-ditched attempt to save his career and his profile, Tony tries to 'modernise' and liven up his segments with improvised banter. The trouble is, the more he's allowed to speak, the further he puts his foot in his mouth. Before long he manages to inadvertently offend just about everyone around him.
Can Tony reinvent himself in time to save his career? Can he finally find acceptance for being the great 'meteorologist' he sees himself as? And what's with his shoes?
The Weatherman is a planned 12 part, two season narrative comedy from award-winning creators Timothy Nash and Lucas Crandles - winners of the New York Television Festival for Best Writing, and Los Angeles Independent Television Festival for Best Animation.
