Mark Zuckerberg introduces Open Compute April 7th, 2011

Open Compute takes the Open Source model used by products like OpenStack, and applies it to the hardware layer, including datacenter design and server designs. Huge breakthroughs in power efficiency have been realized, and are now available for all to use and to improve as a community going forward. We think this is the perfect compliment to OpenStack, the open source cloud operating system meant to run on Open Compute.
