Here's the music video we made for one of my favorite musicians, Damien Jurado. It features the band (Damien, Eric, Jenna) and stars Damien's younger brother, Drake. Shot in beautiful E. WA.

    beautiful cinematography Matt.

it reminds me of Malick's 'Days of Heaven'; the period, location/landscape, and his use of natural light.
  • Thinklab plus 3 years ago
Thanks Everybody! Yeah Kate, Day's of Heaven was a big inspiration for the look... landscapes and lots of natural light.

Amazing. What lenses were used? Breathtaking images...

The day light outdoor stuff - you guys using tons of nd's, shooting at magic hour, what? Nothing blown out, perfect exposure with all highlights and no noise...

    Beautiful stuff

Red 18-50, set of Zeiss Super Speeds, and a pl-mount Lensbaby. We shot at all hours of the day, and yes there was some heavy ND on some shots. Thanks for the kind words Andrew.

Putting aside the technical for a second, I'm curious about the emotional content... did the brothers come up with the idea? This is an extremely overwhelming video.
