Jam08 Live: BCCS Bristol - Bacto-Builder
Sophie, Oli, and Thomas from BCCS Bristol talk about their Bacto-Builder project. They attempted to program E. coli to detect, adhere and recruit other E. coli to push polystyrene microbeads up a chemoattractant gradient.
The team won the "Best Model" award for developing and releasing BSim, a new stochastic simulator they used to model their system. It produces absolutely beautiful visualizations. The team also won a bronze medal at the Jamboree.
