Produced in 1973 at Synapse Video in Syracuse, NY. Material was shot on 16mm film, then transferred to video and electronically manipulated, finally kinoscoped back to 16mm film. For transfer to the web, the film was projected and captured using a Panasonic HVX200A at 24fps. The soundtrack I produced on a Moog synthesizer in 1974/5.

Interesting experimental music video. Even after 35 years, it still feels "edgy"!

FYI - I put up a link to this at Synthtopia:

Thanks for sharing this. Any more videos in the vault?

    Thanks for your good words.

My website has examples of my work old and new... robertedgar.com.
I just transferred about two hours of 16mm film to HD, some of it edited, some of it raw. Over the next few months I'll work with it, and upload it when it's done.
One piece in the "Older works" section of my site is titled "Simultaneous Opposites". It shows an original study for some of the source footage used in Intersticies, which I shot a bit later. All single framed, panned on a tripod set up with something like a protractor, with each frame scored ahead of time. "S.O" plays back at 24 fps, while the similarly-shot footage in Intersticies was (mostly) slowed down while processing the 1/2" reel-to-reel video...

Robert - fascinating stuff - it's like a window into the experimental world of the 70s, but it also still seems modern.

Thanks. It transferred well to HD. It's all about trying to see, either in 1973 or now.
