One early spring day in Braddock, I spent the afternoon with Braddock Artist Merissa Lombardo.

She was taking a break from a film project, and I had the opportunity to catch her at our studio building Unsmoke Systems. We drove around Braddock, and visited a site where she had installed a sculpture for a public art project lead by a local art group called Transformazium.

Merissa grew up in Vermont, went to school at Bard College, and I met her when I first came to Braddock looking for a studio.

I feel fortunate to know her; she is always involved and working on multiple projects. Earnest and driven, I find she brings a level of excitement and transparency to a situation. Her inclusiveness and flexibility are a source of inspiration, I still dont know where she gets all her energy, I guess people are wired differently...
