Dartmoor is a national park about 30 miles away from where I live. Until now I've never properly visited the area, so in September 2008 I took my camera and explored.

It now has a special place in my heart, love it!

Shot on Sony EX1, no adaptors

Graded in Magic Bullet

I think the editing is better (and love the choice of music), but would like to have seen some more characterful colour grading, but that's a personal thing.

Beautiful production. We lived near Dartmoor for a while and camped there once - got rained out. Lovely to see the Dartmoor Ponies again.

You have an incredible eye for a shot.
    What Camera/Lens/Settings did you use?
The ultra-shallow depth of field on the close-ups is SO cinematic-just wonderful!!

Very nice, I like very much the colors and the composition. How did you end up with that screen format? Which software did you use?
  •
  • Wayne Avanson plus 11 months ago
Beautiful again James. Your eye for it is faultless as usual.
Seems a much more relaxed edit, there's more 'space' for the viewer to soak up the images and get a real feel for the place.

    Best

You could capture beauty in the nature and bring out its own best quality by add the music came from heart. Like nature itself sings. Wide screen is like your wide vision. You have to love the nature to work with the love.
Thank you very much for your loving work James.
I really enjoyed it very much!

Excellent Video James! I was wondering, what type of workflow you used for your anamorphic format I.E.
How did you mask off your viewfinder/monitor for shot composition, and what did you do in post to get it anamorphic for editing from the native EX1 format?

Thanks and congratulations on the wonderful video!
