Just a lot of random footage I've taken walking around the city. It's still pretty new and mind blowing to me.

Song is 1234 by Feist

I'm so glad that Feist song is everywhere. What a great song. You walk right by my office neighborhood a bunch in this. I use that 33rd street 6-train all the time. And that shot of the Empire State Building is just brief enough to not be cliche.

We should hang before your internship ends. I saw Caitlin at the Lily Allen show in Brooklyn last week.

Agreed. It's still pretty new and mind blowing to me too after several years; I don't know if that will ever go away.

Does anyone know why digicams get those vertical lines from light sources sometimes?

The idea of growing up in a city seems weird to me. Cities to me are places to move to when you're older.

That looked like one extremely amazing playground near the beginning.

Lovely! It really shows just why your mind is so blown.

Now, you should do one where you are filming while you randomly bark at people as you walk down the street. When you can do that, you will have truly adapted to the city :)

I loved how the pigeons counted along to the song. Was that an armoured ice cream van about 0:30 ?
  • duplo 2 years ago
There's Mr. Softee trucks like that all over the place.

The Pigeons are my favorite part, too.

Wow, super excellent. I also loved the taxi-counting toward the beginning, and the whole feeling of simple exploring. I made a "videogram / vimeogram" for a friend of mine in Austria so she could see a bit of NewYork -- vimeo.com/178651 -- love your style though!

Love this. Is that all raw footage or did you speed or slow it somehow? I can't tell and I want to know how to make things look neato like this.
  • duplo 2 years ago
some of it is sped up or slowed down. Actually a lot of it is!
