1. GE Gives Back $3.7 Billion Tax Refund to America
10 months ago
GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt has informed the Obama administration that the company will be gifting its entire 2010 tax refund, worth $3.2 Billion, to the US Treasury on April 18, Tax Day, and will furthermore adopt a host of new policies that secure its position as a leader in corporate social responsibility.

GE wants to hear from you: where should we send this important gift that will help our workers, our company and, ultimately, our country?

Nice beginning GE, now start paying your fair share of the costs of building and maintaining the infrastructure that allows you to be so succesful. I pay taxes on the measly money that I make so you do not have to.

I think this is not so much of a hoax as it is satire designed to draw the attention of people who are unaware of the fact that companies like GE pay little or no taxes in the USA and in some cases get tax rebates in the billions of dollars.
