Spring Animation 2-2

This second grade lesson was inspired by the changes that happen as we move into the spring season as well as the book "Ish" by Peter Reynolds. During the two days of instruction for this lesson, students learned a history of the animation process; highlighting ancient story telling methods all the way to contemporary 3-D examples. This project introduced students to technological art making via drawing tablets and the software "animation-ish." Students were also introduced to time-lapse photography as the class studied the way plants actually grow in nature.
