Sweet! Loved this little film... AND I so regret having sold my 69 Mustang with a 6 cylinder and a 3 speed manual on the floor. I paid $2,200 (new) for it... I'd trick it out now if I still had it. Oh well...

SO many things I love about this. The way you shot the interviews is great, awesome quality and composition. You really had some great b-roll shots and the whole editing of the interview really had me engaged, he's a great character. And lastly I love the music, especially "Home" what a great song. I like the piece and the music. I have some questions for you with regards to the latter. They relate to an independent feature film of mine that is in post. Can you please reach out to me to start a dialogue if possible? I can be reached at jechaney2@gmail.com. Peace.

Absolutely great car, owner, and story-telling...this is the way it's suppose to be done!
Excellent cinematography and editing. However, I would have featured more of the car itself, and much more of the throaty engine. You don't own a 440 Magnum without "getting on it", which I'm sure he has done in his past.

    End credits were brilliant!

this was great! fantastic images, great shots, nice story and well edited! At 3:13, was Marlowe carrying your equipment? :) Did you use a lot of the GoPro shots?
  • ALCHEMYcreative plus 8 months ago
Haha, no he we didn't make him carry gear. He is also a photographer and always carries his camera. He just so happens to use the Canon 5D Mark II as well!
  • ALCHEMYcreative plus 8 months ago
Oh, and no we didn't use too many GoPro shots. Only probably 3 or 4 if that. We had some good shots set up but were way too shaky to be usable, which surprised us. I had done some test mounting and everything was totally fine, not sure why those didn't work.
  • David Koehlmeier plus 8 months ago
thanks for the reply ... Im planning to shoot a music video, car driving scenes in it, so its good to know. thanks!
  • ALCHEMYcreative plus 8 months ago
No problem. And again, I have normally had good luck with the GoPros. In my opinion they should only be used in the day time, cause at night the compression is terrible.

Tell us more about that sucssion cup kit you running.
  • ALCHEMYcreative plus 8 months ago
Not much too it, a single suction and a small arm. Here's a link:
    filmtools.com/gripper-3025-suction-cup-camera-mount.html.

I've used this quite a few times and it's been great for the price. At first I'm always afraid of it falling off but it really does hold. Just gotta watch the pump and make sure the red line doesn't show. I want to try the bigger units to see how much steadier they can get, and see what other shots they will allow us to grab.

  • ALCHEMYcreative plus 8 months ago
Not too familiar with the area but I think we might have been. We ended up around a park with a little ranch, really nice area. The hills were really green the day we went out, we were luck to shoot when we did.

Great video. Great production. What camera(s) did you guys use for this (besides the GoPro)? lenses?
  • ALCHEMYcreative plus 6 months ago
Thanks man! We shot mostly on Canon 5D Mark II's and a Canon 7D. We used a wide range of lenses like a Nikon 20mm, Canon 24-70, Canon 24-105, and Canon 70-200mm. Also had the Kessler Pocket Dolly and our suction mount for the driving shots.
