RJD & Summit Series in the Bahamas
On April 10, 2011, the University of Miami's R.J. Dunlap Marine Conservation Program teamed up with Summit Series at Sea for a day of action-packed shark tagging. Artists, actors, journalists, entrepreneurs, and many more brought both imagination and open hearts to see how they could help do their part in saving sharks. Dr. Neil Hammerschlag led the expedition, involving over 60 people from Summit Series in the research experience. To earn a spot on the boat, Summit Series participants had to post their own creative solutions to various marine-related issues on a blog called Shark Tag You're It (sharktagyoureit.com). Although the day may have passed, the efforts are ongoing. We look forward to all the innovative collaboration.
