Scott Weaver's Rolling through the Bay
Scott Weaver's amazing piece, made with over 100,000 toothpicks over the course of 35 years, is a depiction of San Francisco, with multiple ball runs that allow you to go on "tours" of different parts of the city. It will be on display in the Tinkering Studio until June 19th!

i live near SF and this is just incredible.
this tour takes me thru places i've never even been in SF LOLOL!!!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!!! THE WORLD MUST KNOW OF THIS! can't wait to see it at the exploratorium!
Good question! We were ready with a forklift and a plan to use multiple supports to lift it over the side wall and into the Studio, but it turns out that it doesn't weigh very much and it is surprisingly sturdy, so it ended up just being me and Scott lifting it by hand over the railing!
though the idiot that lobbed the pingpongball deserves a toothpick in his eye,
