48. BSS | Breakfast Interrupted
One of our most recent shoots, titled Breakfast Interrupted, is now live for your viewing pleasure. Shot primarily with the Phantom HD Gold at 1000fps, the piece is designed to showcase food in a beautiful and unusual way.

The idea was brought to us by our friends at marlinnetwork.com, for their annual breakfast event.

what did you shoot this on?
  • Katelynn Zimmerman 9 months ago
By the looks of the Tags on the video, they probably used a Phantom Flex high speed camera. I'd die to get my hands on one of those.
  • Phantom HD Gold at 1000fps. Intro scenes were shot on Canon 5d MKII. There's another handful of BTS pics on our blog: brutonstroube.com/blog.aspx?post=122

Yeah it's a Phantom Flex HS, you can start selling your house with everything in it if you want to buy this kind of camera.

Plus, you gotta have a lot of space on your computer since it takes around 8GB/Second when it shots in full speed.

How did you achieve the initial shot where the food jumps off the table? Doesn't look like the table moves...

I love the look you guys achieved with the 5D. What kind of filtration did you use?
  • Only used ND filters so we could shoot wide open at f2.8. We use a very flat picture style with the Canon platform so we have maximum flexibility with grading.
