Brent Kakesako and Kasha Ho describe the "Live Aloha in Your Neighborhood" Challenge, and Brent shares his own experience reaching out to his neighbors.

Starting the last week of April, 2011 Kanu Hawai’i asks people across the islands to begin the process of building stronger communities, one block at a time, drawing on our culture of aloha. We ask islanders everywhere to start with one action: Reach out to people “3 doors down” in both directions from the place you live, and get together in a backyard, garage, building lobby, local coffee shop, or other place within walking distance. It can be as simple as a talk-story barbeque or a 20 minute street clean-up.
