Today started with a trip to the playground. We noticed the sky was brown with smoke. As the day went on, we saw flames on the foothills, skies blacked out from thick black smoke and sirens up and down the boulevards.

Brea is the city North of Fullerton, about 5 mins drive away. Yorba Linda is East of here, several miles away. We are not in any direct danger, but if the winds pick up (and they were very strong earlier) there is serious concern for floating embers. Our roof is very old and dry, and there are fall leaves all over the yard. I have been out there hosing things down just in case.
