Launching a campaign can be nerve-wracking, and in the warm up room at the Ottawa press center I did some pacing. But the lions in the press corps did not maul me too badly and I felt I got the key messages across: we need to reform the party; unite behind a new leader, whoever it is; and get on with the real task ahead - defeating Stephen Harper and giving Canadians a solid, middle of the road compassionate Liberal government. I'm looking forward to the next 6 months. Already I'm on the road - where I seem to live - heading out to listen to Liberals in the Niagara region.
