Featuring Saintsetseg, a Tsaatan shaman, and Daniel, a traveler from Wales.
July, 2009: East Taiga Mongolia
Daniel joined a coterie of French travelers on a 10 day hiking trip to the northern region of Mongolia and found himself immersed in the remote tsaatan community where, through serendipity, he stumbled into a shaman ceremony.
The traveler describes a mixture of awe, bewilderment and awkward ambivalence evoked by this mystical experience.
This is one in a series of documentary shorts exploring Mongolian culture and religion, sponsored by a Fulbright grant.
