Introductory remarks:
In northern Sweden a river flow from Norway in to Sweden, but after just a few km it disappears down in to the ground and after 3 km it returns up to the surface of the earth. This underground passage have for long time been unknown and now for the first time it’s true beauty is unveil. During the wintertime, before the snow is melting and the spring flood, a spelunking team enters the cave.

The team arrives to the last point for cars and pack up the snow scooter for the last km. the first day the team is only working on tracks so the scooters can transport al the equipments during the week.
Day 2 the first scooter arrives to the sump and the team starts drilling thro the 1 meter (~ 3,2 ft) ice cover. On the snow a base camp are built.
2 moths before the team are meeting up south of Stockholm to practice together in a boulder cave.
Day 3 the team enters the cave, thro the narrow restriction. Beyond the restriction the cave opens up and Beautiful facets and marble limestone covers the walls, roof and floor.
The team discovers that the cave is getting wider and wider, but still no flow.
During the week the team keeps exploring the cave and also looking for new caves in the area (the area is well known of caves, but explorations have only been executed during summertime). Some caves are only half flooded so the team can explore without dive gear.
At the end of the valley the river exits thro the last cave. This cave got a hi flow, so the divers got a hard time to enter the cave. But the native creatures are swimming freely around in the cave. Different trout’s are discovered in al part of the cave complex.
The 2008 expedition was successful and the team discovered hundreds of meters new cave and explored Sweden’s longest under water cave system.
